What you can do right now for the Constitution and your Liberty

From mandates to milk. From weed to war. And everything in between. Very little of what the federal government does is authorized by the Constitution.

While the Constitution is clear that the federal government is one of limited, delegated powers – in practice, without popular resistance, the federal government people do whatever they please. They tell us we have to buy a health insurance plan, what size toilet we can have, and what kind of light bulbs we can buy.  They read your emails, listen to your phone calls, monitor your bank accounts – and even claim the power to arrest and detain you indefinitely, without due process.

For far too long, the United States Federal Government has deployed troops to every corner of the world, waged offensive wars without a declaration by Congress, silenced and kidnapped its enemies, authorized the torture of prisoners, engaged in espionage, imposed crippling embargoes, pillaged our resources, taken our property, and destroyed our economy and our environment.

On top of it all, these government people tell us – the sovereign people – what IT has the legal authority to do, instead of the other way around.

And it hasn’t mattered what political party has been in power or what individual has occupied the White House.  Year in and year out – federal power always grows and your liberty is always worse off.

So for those of you who believe that the path to the Constitution and your liberty is not through the federal government – but instead through Jefferson, Madison…..and other state capitols around the country – here’s a few steps that you can take right now.

1.  Contact your state legislators right now.

With state legislative sessions getting underway all over the country, the time to put pressure on your state to nullify unconstitutional federal acts is now.  Not next year, and not sometime this summer.  Not next month or next week.  Today – not tomorrow – right now.

Think of one federal issue that’s extremely important to you.  Focus on just one right now.  Contact your state legislators and politely but firmly demand that they do what Thomas Jefferson and James Madison advised – stand up for the Constitution in your state today.  And it’s easy for them to do this – by introducing a bill rejecting a particular federal act

Let them know that they won’t be alone!  Over the past few years, legislators around the country have been introducing bills to reject federal acts on issues across the political spectrum.   Let them know that you’re watching what they do this year, and that while you recognize they have many legislative ideas on deck already, that you expect them to take action on at least one thing to push back against Washington DC.

Let them know that you can get them help with model legislation and even with talking points  Let them know that we have proof that when enough people and enough states stand up and say NO to Washington DC, there’s not much the feds can do to force their unconstitutional federal laws, regulations and mandates down our throats.

And when you get responses by phone, mail or email – make sure to let us know about it here at the Tenth Amendment Center – info@tenthamendmentcenter.com.

2.  Educate your friends and family

Share as much of this information as possible with friends, family, people you meet who express an interest in limiting federal power.  Some of the most important articles and pages to send to others include:

Thomas Jefferson’s Other Declaration – by Derek Sheriff
The States’ Rights Tradition Nobody Knows – by Tom Woods
The Untold History of Nullification: Resisting Slavery – by Derek Sheriff
The Tenth Amendment Center’s legislative tracking page
Model Legislation from the TAC – to recommend bills for introduction in your state

3. Disobey.  Seriously.

Whether it was the stamp act in the 1760s or the fugitive slave act in the 1850s, to nullify requires people defying government edicts. In the spirit of Thoreau, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and Samuel Adams – when enough people say NO, change can and will happen.   So that’s why step # 3 is to Disobey….Seriously.

Now I’m not recommending that you go out and just start defying every law in existence.  With resistance comes risk – and it’s your choice as to just how much risk you’re willing to take.  And whether that risk is small or great, every bit is essential.

For decades, courageous pot smokers have been defying every law imaginable – on possession, cultivation, commerce and more.  They’ve defied Congress, the Executive Branch the DEA and even the Supreme Court.  And today, because so many people decided that they would make their own decisions about whether or not they could use a naturally-occurring plant – there are now 15 states that have backed them up by passing laws allowing such use.

I’ve asked this question in speeches around the country, and ask it again tonight – when the feds try to enforce a law restricting your right to keep and bear arms, or requiring you to purchase a particular health insurance plan – will you have as much courage as the pot smokers?

4.  Rinse and Repeat

Doing these three steps once and going back to Facebook to look at some food pictures isn’t going to get the job done.  With that, step #4 is simple – rinse and repeat.  Within reason, these steps should become part of your life.  Find time every week to do something – anything – that helps our growing movement succeed in nullifying every unconstitutional federal act.

5.  A bonus action item for you – Join the TAC Team

If you really want to get active, here’s a bonus action item for you.  Consider joining the Tenth Amendment Center team by applying for a role in our state and local coordinator program.   You can do that online at www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/local-coordinators/

SAM’S ADVICE

With an unconstitutional growth of federal power that’s happened for over a 100 years – and seriously accelerated in the last ten – sometimes it’s hard to focus on just what should be done.

Become a member and support the TAC!

These four steps are something that you can do in less than one hour each week.  And while that may not seem like a lot to you, you can always do more too.  But, a little something every week from thousands of people WILL make a difference.  Everyone in our growing Tenther community is extremely grateful for you doing your part for liberty.

In closing, there’s no better way to sum this up than with the words of Samuel Adams – “It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds”

NOTE: The preceding was recorded at the close of Tenther Radio Episode 30. The show airs live online every Wednesday at 5pm Pacific Time here. Find us on iTunes at this link.

In response to The Untold History of Nullification: Resisting Slavery.

This display of abuses could serve no better example of what I am about to point out. These abuses are life against life, these are acts that have verification. One of the things I have become aware of is most things under the legal system speak it terms of the person, an example would be a sovereign or person which is a perverted term and here is why.

When we look at life what is it we speak of? The deciding force in all decision making, the authority of self. So by stating person all the sudden it does not become the deciding factor or force, independence or Life or any of these things. What happens is now each entity General Government which is what? A Person or a life all on its own with its own authority upon itself and no more. Further more this extends to each state which is what? A life of its own, its own choice it’s own authority by its choice?

Then lets take each community does it have a life of its own, able to decide by its own authority and then we have the people, or public or politic or sovereign or Life which is able to decide for self in its own authority.

Where I noticed the perversion of this most loudly was in Corporations are listed as the person, to centralize authority in some perverse legalize so that only a few become the authorized or the authority over, In what words do they use to define Federal Government A sovereignty, a person? Then this extends to states as Sovereigns or as a person? So a few to authorize what will take place? Is this because legalize looks at its own authority as the authority over and over what, Life?

In the Declaration of Independence Life has no authority over other life each life has its own authority because it can be show to be so in the acts of life itself. This brings up very interesting questions I hope others will start to ask.

Isn’t the theory of nullification really the act of Life opposing other life of dominance against them? Again what is life?

In response to “The states rights tradition no one knows.”

This is the first I have read this and it approves my findings that no authority or life has more authority than another life. Entities as Governments or of states represented as life hold their own authority with themselves and one may not authorize the other, or show force over another.

The extent of the wit in these papers and within this discussion is living proof of the constant or persistence of some attempting authority over. Much energy has gone into the combating this effort which too has been consistent which is obvious in history but in present time is missing all together. Some in life have a persistence to dominate or be king of the mountain by their choice alone, the efforts to hold this at bay has been overwhelming and still today has not rested. If nothing more it is the full display of the total ignorance of Life and its own authority in which to decide. This example only exemplifies no other has authority over and as people as life it is our responsibility to understand ourselves as life and the decisions this entails.

Truly in the spirit of life the effort in opposition to effort has been on going for literal life times and a good question some should ask is when is a waste of energy to be defined? To recognize each other as the energy is all do respect of each others energy. To pretend dominance is in no way all honesty, it mistakes in thought and choice and a symbol of the ignorance itself by the results it bares. When is it lessons become learned, when we see them, understand them or when we refuse to look at them? It can be said then that each authority has full authority to question any such authority on the basis of itself and the deciding authority upon itself and self determination. Each being the deciding force is equal with no more authority than the other but equal authority to question and verify the act of such authority towards the other. This is genuine in nature or in all honesty to each other and deciding energy or life in full respect of other life.

We need to protect our consitution, the only way to do that is to clean our house and senate from people who have lost their moral integrety, they are all dirty. There is more value in taking America over than to restoring us to the God loving country that made us great. It is all about taking power from God and using it for their own dirty means, they have passed bills that are not good for the citizens but give them the ultimate power over us. They lie to us, tell us only what they want us to know and pretend that they are doing for the good of the country, they are not They have lost sight of God for their own immoral pourposes. God is not pleased. We must please God First, God Family Country.

One of my conceal carry sites has an Insurance policy for defense in case I shoot someone and need legal representation. Do you see anything like that in the future for 10-thers, in case there's trouble after one of us "disobeys"?

Disobedience is the proper and recommended remedy to tyranny from our natural law tradition. But there is an art to disobedience; whenever you break the law, you need to have a reason why that you can argue before a judge, and you should have a legal theory that is recognized by government. There is a book that provides a legal foundation for disobedience: "The LAWFUL Remedy to Tyranny." See www.NaturalLawRemedy.com for details.

I have actually already sent about a dozen letters due to your NDAA post and want to thank you for notifying us about that Act. Perhaps you could keep a column of acts you personally think are troublesome, though this may restrict people from becoming active in searching out things, and we need more leaders than we now have..

Regardless, thank you for all you and the rest of the TAC do.

@Reft good idea, thanks for the feedback!

FYI , we are also working on a state nullification bill for the NDAA. stay tuned!

Very interesting Michael, this is one of the best well laid out plans I have seen. Decision, determination and persistence are how all things become done and you explained that very well here.

Also I have not had time this morning but I touched on all of these links and there is a wealth of great information. I will finish in the next couple of days and make sure this is circulated and who knows with a few changes I too could end up as a local-coordinator. I am in the middle of reading the Original Constitution now with fascination mind you. I am also in the middle of writing what I call my most important work the Deciding Factors which will help with what you have expressed here because nothing takes place without choice, nothing. I am going to send this home like it has never been sent before. We hold the power, the authority for ourselves and no other is allowed to take it away, they only think this to be the case and thinking never did a thing but decisions have done everything.

Making great cases, great plans and great informed decisions can make things happen in abundance, I believe you are onto something and a choice needs to be made.

Thank you Mr. Michael Boldin for fantastic work.

Genuinely
