Sadly, this is untrue. They accept what they are told as if it is the truth and do not investigate matters for themselves.

Another problem is that ‘freedom of the press’ is rarely seen today, and not at all on television. Each and every television station, both broadcast and cable alike, are owned by superhuge companies protecting their own profits.

But the government by its very nature hinders freedom. At a minimal level it does so merely by defining the term. The only true guardians of freedom are the people. Indeed it is probably this attitude that its the governments job to “protect freedom” that makes it exceedingly difficult for any one individual to do so.

Another popular misconception is that “peace officers” protect freedom. In reality they are on the front lines of the assault on liberty. They are the ones Tasing the true protectors of freedom.
