Tyranny Knows no Borders

by Igor Prohorov

EDITOR’S NOTE: Most Americans take freedom for granted. Igor Prohorov does not. He was born and spent his childhood in a country that suffered under one of the most tyrannical regimes in modern history.  His experiences, and those of his family, make his message that much more poignant.

I was born in small port-city of Kerch, Ukraine in 1986. Although I was only 11-years-old when I immigrated to U.S. with my family, I can still remember all the chaos that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union. Gangs ruled the streets; people were selling their own children at the Bazaars to get some money to buy food and pay rent. There was corruption all around, to put it simply.

Although these were tough times, the real tyranny was during the Soviet era. As many of you know, Stalin was a ruthless leader, a murderer who is responsible for more Russians deaths than even Hitler.

One of the people to suffer during Stalin’s regime was my step-grandfather. He was generous enough to sit down with me and tell his story, but was hesitant to go into many details. Alex (he refused to give out his last name), was one of the millions of people that were picked up on a random sweep by the security forces (KGB), and sent to Siberia to work in the Gulags. He was never given a reason for why he was arrested, and ended up serving a couple of years in the slave camps.

These camps were a big secret in our country for many years, until a famous writer and a former Gulag prisoner, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, came out in public and wrote multiple books about it. One of the most famous books  by Solzhenitsyn is  Gulag Archipelago. This book was my mom’s favorite. She was a librarian, but was only allowed to have books that were approved by the state. And of course, this book was banned. She had to literally risk her life to obtain and hide this book in her home.

These are just a few examples of how our liberties perish under an all powerful state.

We live in the greatest country on earth, and our citizens are truly blessed to have the opportunity to practice their religion, to speak out about an issue of their concern, to petition the government, to bear arms, and most importantly, to have a right to due process under the law and the right to a fair trial.

Our Founding Fathers clearly understood the evils of big government, and the importance of civil liberties and privacy. They risked everything, including their very lives, to fight for freedom and justice. They gave us the greatest document of all time – the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution was written specifically to LIMIT the power of the Federal Government and not allow this country to become like Europe.

Over the past few years, I have seen our liberties slowly fade away. Our government is now allowed to read our mail (and e-mail), to check our financial transactions, to spy on us without a warrant and/or probable cause, and even assassinate U.S. citizens without a trial. Recently, much attention has been focused on a proposed  NDAA bill, which would allow the military to detain Americans indefinitely, just like the Soviet Union did to my step-grandfather. Moreover, we have had laws on the books for decades allowing the government to have almost unlimited power in an event of a national emergency.

What is it going to take for American people to wake up and understand that tyranny has no borders, that it can spill over to our nation, and imprison our minds and our citizens? Russian people were way too apathetic and were scared to speak out against tyranny before it was too late, and look how many millions of people perished.

Will the American people finally stand up and say NO to big government and take back our country, restore our civil liberties, and our Constitution?

Time will tell…

He has been spreading the message of liberty and limited government and has kept a close eye on those who don’t care for it. Contact Igor at igorprohorov1986@gmail.com.

This story is very true and reeks of truth after truth while most in this country simply wonder aimlessly through the country with no recognition of themselves as life. The most important part is the living but when tyranny rears its ugly head does life become cumbersome.

The United State has never been without its enemies silently hanging in the background. Any fool with eyes in his head can see the british rule if they only open these eyes and look. The dominance smells the same and the results bare no different fruit than its previous attempts to abuse the controls.

We are a dumbed down society by some taking our attention and diluting it with so many unnecessary steps one can find themselves having a tough time focusing only 3 at one time versus 20. Our founders did not envision such things , they were certain of such things and desperately worked to warn us but the enemy by secrecy and manipulation mutilated what came naturally to us by filling us with constant lies while building acceptance to poor ideas because they knew full well no one would take the time to investigate such matters.

Tyranny today is more rampant than in any time in history breading itself on American soil pretending to be our friend while sticking the knife in.

The financiers the cause of such a creation, the cause of such a perversion to what comes natural. The total intrusions into our lives in recent times only a visual of things yet to come.

But fear not for we have the power, the power of choice, choice being the only means to any such achievement. Recognizing this only becomes our strength with each other. Knowing our Foundation and applying our principals our own responsibility unto ourselves.

Decide to live as A constitutional Republic, work to understand exactly what that is and decide you will do the acts of achievement to arrive there and arrive there we shall, or allow tyranny and loose it all. To pick our path is our only choice to see it through.

Lets us board up tyranny in a small oak box and send it to sea to never be seen again, we have the skills and we carry the ability to wipe it off the face of the earth by instituting knowledge of ourselves entirely with nothing left out.

See you there on the line.

    Genuinely,

The amendment that got squashed regarding indefinite detention of US citizens should be a wake-up call for Americans. The problem isn’t that it failed, the problem is that anyone in this government thought it was a good idea to even consider… that is the problem. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea needs to have American citizens on the door step of their office demanding answers.

The American people pay too much attention to MSM popularity contests. They’ll vote for the most popular candidate on TV and not the one that would REALLY take control of this debacle. Congress is the prime example. 2010 did nothing to squelch the assault on our liberties that the Obama administration is determined to finish. If people would read instead of watch TV, we’d have much smarter elections and much smarter voters.

We need a list of the people who voted for this OUTRAGEOUS bil / law.

Not going to happen , occupy America tried but just had NO LEADERSHIP, an many Americans did not support them , many thought the were sknot nose kids, if they pushed for voter registration an stayed organized had specific agendas maybe they just might get the politicians attention, an I think they still can but they need leadership an strong goals , or maybe we just need another terrorist attack on American soils , cause when 9/11 HAPPEND we had solidarity ! An that is so very sad to say .

No they won’t because as long as they get their Starbucks and their iPhones they’re happy, self absorbed people. Sad but true.

the occupy people are for the most part people without morals, values, and principles, and our founders warned us what would happen when people like that get any power…

In many respects this type of tyranny has already come to America.

The level of corruption in our country is starting to resemble Nigeria or a banana republic.

Consider also what just happened in a federal court in Texas. In this case, As described at http://LawInjustice.com , a Dallas business owner was involved in a civil dispute and paid millions of dollars to lawyers, and when he objected to additional fees after settling the case, they had a “friendly” judge, seize all of his possessions, without any notice or hearing, and essentially ordered him under “house arrest” as an involuntary servant to the lawyers, threatened that his orders are punishable “by death” and denied a jury trial. The business owner has been under this “servant” order for 10 months and is prohibited from owning any possessions, prohibited from working, etc..

Only if people get out and do something about it instead of worry about their reality shows and sports teams. I’m all for entertainment when it’s given the proper priority.

All of the big sports stuff is promoted by the criminal government to keep the men in this country preoccupied with something so they won’t stand guard over their families and nation .
