Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Santorum (and 99.9% of Federal government elected officials) runs to ensure the Federal government is the protector of the people because HE wants to be President (part of the Federal government)! How boring would being President be if HE didn't get to decide how children will get fed at lunch, or which light bulbs people should use, or the octane in your gas, or who can or can't get married? If the President were limited to the rules established in Article II of the Constitution, he'd be much less "powerful" and that just wouldn't do! Not only does he operate under the false premise concerning the 10th Amendment, but he operates under the false premise of the entire Constitution (he clearly has a Lincolnian view). For him 2+2 must equal 5...there is no other way.

My concern for the 2012 election is that the Republican party is going to select a candidate like a Santorum because they simply want to win back the White House. IMHO, this is one of those moments in time where great things can happen and we can actually devolve the fed govt back to the limits of the constitution. But it requires someone, NOT like Santorum, to recognize, appreciate, and most importantly, desire to rebalance our nation's power structure. I doubt that the Perry, Romney, and Santorum types give a damn about this, and therefore we must find and support a true Constitution-loving candidate.

OK. I will declare myself a Rick Perry supporter and take out an ad asking if Justin Bieber is the love child of Rick Santorum and Michele Bachman. Then you won't vote for Rick Perry either, because one of his "supporters" took out an ad.
