Former Miss USA left in tears at TSA checkpoint

by Michael Maharrey

An invasive TSA pat-down at the Dallas airport left former Miss U.S.A Susie Castillo in tears. She said the search left her feeling violated, and she likened it to molestation.

Castillo made an emotional video shortly after the incident on April 21.

“I’m sure this woman was just doing her job. But she, I mean she actually, felt, touched my vagina,” she said. “And so I think that’s why I’m crying; that’s what I’m so emotional, because I’m already so upset that they’re making me go – making me do this.  Making me choose to either get molested, because that’s what I feel like and, or, or, go through this machine that’s completely unhealthy and dangerous. I don’t want to go through it, and here I am crying.”

Ironically, a TSA nullification bill was filed in the Texas legislature last month, a bill that would ban the full body scanners and make it a crime to preform invasive searches. The legislation would make it a criminal offense to:

as part of a search performed to grant access to a publicly accessible building or form of transportation, intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly: (A) searches another person without probable cause to believe the person committed an offense; and (B) touches the anus, sexual organ, or breasts of the other person, including touching through clothing, or touches the other person in a manner that would be offensive to a reasonable person.

But Texas legislators seem more interested in playing politics, merely bouncing the proposed law around committee.

It’s time to take action.

The Fourth Amendment says:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated.

No exceptions. No excuses. No extenuating circumstances.

SHALL NOT BE VIOLATED.

Let’s call this what it was.

A sexual assault.

The fact that the perpetrator wore a badge and acted at the behest of the federal government does not make it OK. In fact, it makes it that much more egregious.

And the state of Texas stood idly by, playing politics because some legislators didn’t like parliamentary maneuvering by the bill’s author, Rep. David Simpson. So they yanked support – took their ball and went home.

In the meantime, Miss U.S.A. had her vagina touched by a stranger in the Dallas airport.

Appalling.

It’s time to take action.

Castillo pleads with her viewers to step up.

“I’m hoping that other people who feel violated as an American will make these complaints and maybe they’ll change something.”

States have the power to challenge this federal overreach. States have the duty to interpose on behalf of their citizens. It’s time for the states to step up.

Texas needs to pass this legislation. Legislators in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Hawaii have proposed similar legislation. They need to pass it too. And every other state in the union needs to follow suit.

“Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.” – Frederick Douglass.

How much longer will we quietly submit?

This is absolutely appalling. The TSA needs to be checked in their boots.

And the TSA Agent had a big smile on his face and stained pants. If Bush had sent in our guys to get bin Laden most of this would be in the past. There would be no reason for a pat down search. The TSA has a job. It is to prevent anyone who is hostile to our people and country from hurting said people. So what happens when a nutcake does make it on board and this would have caught him or her? Boom is the answer. Hey if I can watch a guy in a commercial yell "SWEET" when he hears from his wife got 3 Trojan Viabrators as a gift, then what's her problem. When I hear commercials about drugs with their long list of possible side effects I think the pharmacutical companies have us all pegged as guinny pigs. Oh and how can I forget the 3 month PERIOD tablets. Then also the Vaginal Itch. Erectile Disfunction. Toilet Paper reminences on a bears ass. New chemicals to make woman more touchy feely down there. There's trama in all protective services.

We NEED to take a serious stand against this TOTALLY EVASIVE ABUSE OF the American people. We DO NOT need this kind of security. ABSOLUTELY REFUSE IT, NO MATTER WHAT.

I'm a former airline pilot and HAVE REFUSE TO LET ANYONE TOUCH ME or go thru the harmful scanner. NO WAY.

Join a group, support the lawsuits and get this stopped.

This is NOT THE PRICE WE ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR SECURITY. PERIOD!

My daughter had the same thing happen to her. Why is it they can basically secually assualt her and get away with it. The TSA agent stuck her hands down her pantm both in the front and the back!! I have seen a few of the searches on New shows that have caught them. Notably was a little girl whose was asking that they stop touching her while these agents continued to move there hands up and down the middle of this poor childs legs. While some of you think it is funny and that this girl may have been touched before, this agent was not given permission to touch her private places and this is a crisis and a cause for conern.

DHS Scanners To Secretly Search Your Body, Vehicle and Home—X-ray Deaths Next?

Department Homeland Security and Police intend to use hundreds of new X-ray Back Scatter Vans and other scanners with long-distance capability to secretly scan and search lawful persons’ bodies—when driving, walking and X-ray Citizens in their homes. DHS plans to mount X-ray scanners on buildings and utility poles to monitor groups of pedestrians. Citizens that drive or walk to work or lunch in monitored areas may be radiated several times a day.

There is nothing to stop government agencies and police repeatedly targeting (persons of interest) on the street and in their homes with X-ray scans that may cause cancer or induce other medical problems—including individuals afflicted by poor health. DHS new scanning will record eye and facial features of pedestrians, so subjects can be identified for covert X-ray scanning. Consequently some Americans may be X-ray scanned every time they set foot on the street.

How could anyone prove his or her cancer was caused by (accumulated radiation) from repeated government X-ray scans? Can you think of one U.S. Government agency you would trust to limit the number of times and duration secret Government scanners can penetrate a person’s body with X-ray radiation, when walking, driving; inside their home? Citizens driving or walking to work, that must pass DHS X-ray scanners on buildings and utility poles, could be exposed to radiation several times a day. The press recently reported that X-ray scanners now used at airports are 10-times greater that what U.S. Government told the American People.

Currently Citizens can purchase small sensitive radiation detectors on key chains that set off different sounding alarms for each radiation level detected. Key Chain radiation detectors sell for about $160.00 and some appear capable of detecting government X-ray scanners penetrating their home, or their body when walking or vehicle when driving. It should be expected more pedestrians might start carrying radiation key chain detectors to learn if X-ray scanners on buildings and utility poles are targeting their neighborhood, the streets they drive or walk. Radiated pedestrians and drivers should protest, especially if they are being hit everyday with X-ray scanners.

The U.S. can’t become a total Police State until the 4th Amendment is either terminated or so watered down it has no legal effect. That will be the result if government / police are allowed (without probable cause or warrants) to expose the public to covert X-ray scans and scans at airports; train and bus stops and other check points.

One can’t help wonder if today’s outspoken Americans that lawfully defend the Constitution, e.g., writers and bloggers will be deemed combatants by U.S. Government; constantly stopped, searched, and questioned by TSA and police; forced to endure no warrant searches of their car, body and forced cancer causing X-ray scans. The Nazi Military and Police repeatedly searched and delayed Citizens labeled politically undesirable boarding trains and buses and driving to work to cause targeted Citizens to lose their jobs. Citizens were placed on (Nazi do not hire lists) similar to the lists U.S. Homeland Security started in 2010.

America is being turned into the West Bank and Gaza courtesy the dual-nationals who head up the TSA and DHS, and who have done such a wonderful job in turning a whole nation into a prison in the Middle East. If we Americans do not really wake up soon it will be too late.

We have to let TSA grope women, children, old people in wheelchairs, etc. The only viable alternative would be to profile likely terrorists on the basis of their gender/nationality/religion. The latter would be much more efficient and effective, but so terribly politically incorrect. No, it is far better to maintain the fiction that terrorists come equally from every possible classification of humanity. This will help to avoid hurting the feelings of the groups that the terrorists generally represent while making liberals feel good about themselves.

The constitution is explicit about searches without probable cause being illegal. Probable cause is limited to a particular event/person, not a basis for searching all. Also government agencies such as the TSA are unconstitutional. Being that gays are treated like gold today by government in hiring, there is a possibility this TSA agent though female was copping feels.

Definition of Sexual Abuse according to The Nation center For Victims of Crime.

Sexual assault takes many forms including attacks such as rape or attempted rape, as well as any unwanted sexual contact or threats. Usually a sexual assault occurs when someone touches any part of another person's body in a sexual way, even through clothes, without that person's consent. Some types of sexual acts which fall under the category of sexual assault include forced sexual intercourse (rape), sodomy (oral or anal sexual acts), child molestation, incest, fondling and attempted rape. Sexual assault in any form is often a devastating crime. Assailants can be strangers, acquaintances, friends, or family members. Assailants commit sexual assault by way of violence, threats, coercion, manipulation, pressure or tricks. Whatever the circumstances, no one asks or deserves to be sexually assaulted.

Linda O
Linda O

I want to add to my earlier replies by saying that she made a very significant observation regarding drug smugglers when she points out that terrorists can and possibly will utilize the same methods. Scanners are our best defense against this but the government needs to step up and make these machines safer because otherwise the next thing the TSA will want us to do when we opt for searches is crouch and cough hard while they have their hands between our legs.

The ignorance and misogyny in terry's comment is astounding. Anyone who condones touching a woman's vulva against her will is no better than a common rapist. Let's see how much you like the blue glove squad when they're knuckle deep in your rectum. Hey, anything for security, right?

I am glad to get pat down if it means that everyone else will too.
I also let my doctor "violate" me for the same reason--to protect my health.
As an American, I enjoy but do not exercise my right not to go to a doctor and not to fly.
It is silly for me to insist that I have the "right" to get on a commercial flight without proving I am a safe passenger.

@zachcalvert
@zachcalvert

You are very very foolish to think this is anything but a means of control, and I am very, very sorry to have you so willingly give up your rights for safety. Next you'll tell us you'd gladly let people search your home to make sure you aren't making bombs. Take a look at history and see where this is leading...

Try educating yourself.

It is a violation of her body sexually...it is part of a broad plan to desensitize and demoralize and people such as yourself are the brainwashed and ignorant - public school and the media have done a good job on you. If you wanted to, you could do some exploratory study (no pun intended) on the issue featured here, which is violation of the law...actual violation of a person (property, body, possession, etc).

Joe
Joe

REALLY Jenn? If you FEEL like you were sexually assaulted, you WERE sexually assaulted. Or do you think we should leave it to the one touching you to decide whether or not fondling your vagina is molestation? That's like letting the Rapist define 'consent' instead of the victim!

Sue them. There needs to be a Class Action suit against any and all, including obama. I wonder just why the ACLU is keeping quiet in these cases. Are they going through these lines? Oh, they are taking the bus? When is the first person with a deformed child due to this radiation going to sue?

It has to be madness for a parent to watch their child molested at the hands of obama.

It's getting worse. Take a trip to your local BMV and see what you have to do to get a new license. It is better to be an illegal these days than illegal.

And for companies that prefer to leave here rather than have their employees molested or radiated, I'm sorry, but I applaud them for taking the stand we are not.

Some of the comments on this blog are down right disgusting...come on and grow up. Everyone has the right not to have their body violated regardless of the reason. I don't want my granddaughters being felt in personal places and I'm sure if some of you had daughters, you certainly wouldn't be making such callous remarks. The TSA has no right to do this and as citizens of the US we have the right to challenge this procedure...and the option to take a bus is an ignorant remark...

terry

Waaaaaa... is this the first time someone touched your vagina?

If you don't like the security measures, take the bus.

Linda O
Linda O

Waaaa nothing. Whether or not someone has touched her vagina is not the point. This was not someone she knew and it was unacceptable to be touched in that mannor. The TSA agent basically assaulted her and used a position of authority to do it legally. I am curious to know if these TSA agents have had in depth backround checks into their criminal histories to check for instances of assault. Her argument was valid and very clear and she should not be judged for speaking her mind because she is a celebrity. Yes she could take a bus but only to certain places and time is often a factor so flying for many is the best option but that does not mean we should be assaulted for choosing pat downs over radiation. Most of us don't fly often enough for this to worry us but celebrities do. I have small children and I will not let them go through tose machine but am uncomfortable with a stranger touching them. How do I choose. We tell our kids it wrong for people to touch them then we travel and say its okay. Mine are too young to understand the differance and I believe opens the door to a bad situation.

Because local police do not work for local people really, although some other "local people" are on the almost inevitably out of town controlling forces pay off and cultivate list : and are thereby also exalted to apparently I do not care or are mind controlled, not human anyway , just too unaware to comprehend or an admixture of any of that. By local i would mean anyone or any action pertaining to local that violates what the people have deemed inviolate, in my ship anyway. Excuse the french, you fuckin are in nazi germany, in a kind of warped way, but then you are also kind of heading back to a dickensian time though the slow early death of soot and confined, depraved, deprived, and deflowered of youth in its infancy mimic lacks the melodrama of ourselves extinction. And by that i mean us over here in the land of maniacal aus too though I wonder when the nuclear tide really invades our atmosphere and etc. A year came to me in a flash as I pondered on this a month or so ago. One year ago in a dream I was reassured not to get too worried about what is going on now, pertaining to myself as there was a lot of changing in the world to go on over the next couple of years, somehow these two things were linked. There are always disasters but then there is such a stench of superdisaster about this whole human encouraged spate of primarily weather and geologically involved incidents. Do I dare say human induced, yes I do, as far as I am concerned if you dont know this word up

Poeple ask my why I don't fly anymore....(This is not an insult to Miss USA so pleas edon't take it as one.)...but we can't smoke indoors and after someone gets that personal with me we need to have a smoke and get to know each other. Otherwise it feels like they should leave money on my nightstand.

It's amazing that something that's deemed a crime is advocated, encouraged committed and is a law. She has an excellent point about explosives up the rectum and if that will be the next thing they'll make mandatory to check. There's got to be a better way such as profiling. Israel does it and hasn't had an incident. Matter of fact they have not had any problems. Profiling is better than lawfull groping.

Really? My 72 yr old aunt went throught the same crap because she had OBVIOUS steel knee braces on her legs and a pace maker. They swabbed down the braces and ran it through their detector to make sure it wasn't a bomb disguised as a knee brace. They then went up under her blouse to "feel" her chest for the pacemaker. Afterwards they did the same thing as far as a full body search. I know all this happened because they didn't take her behind a screen, they did it right there in front of everyone at LAX. I was enbarrassed for her. The idiot they have in charge of the TSA was a pencil pusher for the FBI. He's probably never done a field search in his life. This action against American citizens is appalling. They could accomplish the same thing with a bomb dog that everyone walked by and by PROFILING. How many terrorist acts at airports occur in Israel, NONE.
