I'm really afraid that it is too late. There are so many people like this Millhiser person, or even worse, those who don't even care to pretend that what the government is doing is Constitutional. Their stupidity is mind-numbing, but their positions are superficially very appealing. The problem is their intellect doesn't manage to scratch the surface of the ideas they're playing with. "Useful idiots" is too kind.

Looks like another victim of federal government school has fallen for what he was(n't) taught??? I don't think our country will ever get back to freedom until the federal government is out of education.

While they all have probably read the Constitution, it is apparent one side has no idea what it means. Actually they choose to make it mean what they want it to mean. They know the history, but have decided it is inconvenient. They rely and count on the courts to redefine our form of government and when that doesn't work, they change it anyway. They have been smashingly successful.

They define Jefferson as the odd ball and Hamilton (although not specifically in this case) to be the true expert. I am always hesitant to use Madison (the first flip-flopper?) as a reference.

Of course education is not w/in the scope of the enumerated powers, but it doesn't matter to many on the left or right. I'm preaching to the choir.

People like Millhiser are dangerous idiots. If the statement - "...provide for...the general welfare of the United States.") - to him means that the federal govt clearly has the power to spend tax dollars on education, then WHAT does it NOT allow? Pretty much nothing. So the federal govt can do whatever IT deems to be for the "general welfare". Pure crap, much like invoking the commerce clause to justify requiring Americans to purchase a consumer product (health insurance). We citizens better get a grip on this crap before it's too late.
