Excellent point regarding the Commerce Clause and inter-state insurance. It's one of the few instances where the Commerce Clause can be used for its intended purpose. Ironic, isn't it? I've been saying this for years.

or maybe…instead of revolution (revolving) we need society to engage in an evolution of sorts…an evolving into a decentralized world that the founders envisioned…but never came to full fruition?

I think we need to change the way people think on a whole in this country. That is going to take a long time but if we are persistant it can be done.

I don't fully understand your reasoning. You say for nullification to be effective we must be pragmatic, pick the right fights. What's there to pick? Federal legislation is either constitutional or it's not and when it's not, that 's when we nullify.

I agree with you but they won't because that would be lessening their power and not increasing it. Have you noticed that the republicans who want to take power this november are not running on that? In fact, most of them seem content to let the HC bill stand which only shows the progressive nature of the republican party. I fear nothing will get done this November even though I plan on voting for anything but a democrat this November.

There is just one aspect of our health care system that the federal government should act upon and the irony for why they haven't done that speaks to the corruption in the system. Under the legitimate meaning of the Commerce Clause, Congress should lift the ban prohibiting interstate sale of health insurance. That alone would bring down costs dramatically.
