I was told that some of these 20 states, including and especially New Hampshire (or other states bordering Quebec) would watch carefully what's happening in Quebec. If Quebec secedes, some of these states will put their plans of sovereignty in motion.
Yvan - I'm not familiar with any of this. Care to give a little more detail on what you're referring to?

On that note, I forgot to mention - the fed govt uses a considerable amount of this money they take from us to bribe other countries into compliance. They liberally pay UN bills - then threaten to end funding when they dont get their way ....
Are these foreign nations also somehow obligated to remain loyal to the US government, for taking these bribes? It didnt work out when we bribed bin laden, or the taliban ... whatever. It is what it is now, and NH nor any other state is selling out their constitutional powers to the feds by taking some of the tax money back.
The fed TAKES more from the states via taxation of the citizens of the states than they would EVER imagine giving to a state. How else would they stay in business? Their only real income IS taxes.
It simple economics here, any mobster would agree. The fed takes from all the people of the states, then sets policy and gives a certain small amount of this taken money to the state government, IF the state complies with federal policies, such as drinking age ...
By the way, I do believe that New Hampshire is a net contributor to the federal government.
Soooo saying "maybe you should not take the Federal Funding and split from the union" is actually a mistake, because NH has more taken from them than they get in return.
A verification or a source on this would be great if anyone has it. I heard it while listening to New Hampshire based radio show, FreeTalkLive
Rudedogg, there is only one party in this country: the banker's party. It has been that way here for well over a hundred years. What kind of a map does a person have to have to understand there is no difference between the parties? If there were a difference, we'd have a helluva lot more than two parties. This stimulus is just a continuance of the Bush stimulus. Which is just a continuance of the breaking of the people. To hell with them.
Rude, while I don't agree with most of what you're talking about, (except the fact that republican policies over the last 8 years have been a major source of the economic problems we face today) I would never have a quarrel with you as long as you continue to be in favor of people peacefully resigning their "membership" in the United States government.
Many people seem more inclined to kill people to prevent them from making their own choices, but your position on this is an honorable one.
Wait just a minute....it's the policies of your beloved Republicians that have put us in this position. The stimulus isn't perfect for sure...it became more imperfect just to get 3 Republicians to vote for it. The rest are just thinking of their party and their own career with in it. I know no one likes to pay taxes but tax cuts aren't the only thing needed right now. Most tax cut money would simply end up in peoples savings accounts because everyone is afraid to spend money right now...you can thank the policies of the last 8 years for that. So we are where we are and some government spending is called for. Our roads are a disaster, our grid is outdated and we buy too much oil and everything else from other countries that don't particularly like us. If you don't like our Federal Government trying to inject money into the economy to hopefully get things moving and get people jobs than maybe you should not take the Federal Funding and split from the union..we don't need you anyway..you can have Rush, Sean and Glen for your leaders..take OReilly, Ingram and Coulter too! Thank you. Bye Bye!!
Combining all the sawdust groups; in this country; not even splinter groups; just in case you didn't get it.... is, exactly what the govern mentals want; for each group of snivellers to go sulk and lick their wounds, while the Illiterati, salivates over creating a new group of whiners; dividing, and conquering, yet another, dissolution, of the United we stand, divided we fall, doctrine... whereas, combining all the groups, will, vote these scofflaw parasites, out of their thrones....
This video is now on my facebook profile. I think that many people are starting to wake up to all of this mess in our politics. The stimulus package has made a lot of people angry. In both parties. Obama ignoring all of the many intelligent inputs on his change.gov site did not help any either. A collapsing currency is a helluva wake-up call as well. States should be taking their rights back. It would be crazy to continue to consent to a dictatorship as our government has become. The federal government has forgotten that they are to serve us, not the other way around. That is the bottom line of this stimulus package. They are merely robbing the poor to pay the rich. That could get ugly.
Mike, you're absolutely right. He's just taking the opposing side, but we definitely want to encourage him to keep doing this!
The sovereignty movement is great but nobody should forget Glenn Beck calling for Ron Paul and his supporters being tried for treason. This guy is a phony.
What's with his sudden appreciation for liberty? I think it could be a case of doing (saying) the right things for the wrong reasons. In other words, now that the Democrats are in charge, he's eager to be critical of Congress and the President.
Ive had it with Pelosi as well - she stonewalls everything she doesn't agree with, so essentially we're not being represented by OUR elected reps, we're being represented by California, and god knows their values and mine are worlds apart.
Time to move to one of those 20 Smart States! The crap that is coming down the pike from President Pelosi will be unbearable.
I think Itse said it right -"They're bribing us with our own money"
They take what's rightfully ours, and then they pressure legislators to go along with whatever the feds want by dangling some of that money in their face.
Just keeps the vicious circle going. I think it's best to get as much money back in the state as possible, and still tell the feds - NO MORE!

What!? 21 States Claiming Sovereignty?…
You mean everyone isn’t on board the hopechange express?
I believe the intent of these bills is to let the federal government know that the states’ sovereignty will not be overwritten… say in case certain gun ban laws get passed… or other …
