Recall that Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty of give me Death" was against the oppressive superpower of the time: he gave this speech as a victim and opponent of foreign intervention by Great Britian.

The governors and State Legislatures must assert their control over their National Guard units when the Federal government commandeers them for uses not consistent with Article I, Section 8.

Powers of Congress
Article I, Section 8, clause 15 "The Congress shall have power: To provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the Union, suppress insurrections, and repel invasions;"

Once Congress calls forth the militia in accordance with the above article, the President assumes the role of CIC, as stated below.

Powers of the President
Article II, Section 2, clause "The President shall be commander-in-chief of the army and navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states when called into the actual service of the United States;"

Dear Sir,

A lot of our troops know they have been sent into harm's way due to stupidity. They do as they are told because they have a contractual obligation to the current regime in control of the government of the united States. Many if not all would vote to live in the united States while on active duty. The soldier when asked will prefer peace to war, defense to aggression and liberty to oppression. Do not, Sir, bash the people that volunteer to lay down their lives to defend you, rather, rather you should bash those that waste them uselessly for their own monetary and political gain.

As for me Sir, I say give me Liberty or Give me Death!
