With all due respect KY10th, your point is well taken. However, secession and civil disobedience are two separate matters entirely. And although I would say that both have always been and should continue to be part of mainstream dialog (for anyone who has intellectual honesty and a spine), they are not tied together. Allowing nullification to become marginalized was one of the biggest mistakes the American majority ever made.

Civil disobedience is certainly not fringe, and if it ever becomes viewed by the majority of Americans as extremist... well, that is a very, very bad omen of things to come.

We must retain the initiative and do what we can to subvert any attempt by the government aligned media to portray nullification and/or civil disobedience as fringe or extremist. Anytime they do so, (especially on the internet), we should make sure they are overwhelmed by intelligent, thoughtful rebukes. We must not allow the federal government and their stenographers in the media to dictate the "terms of battle" so to speak. We shouldn't do the opposition's work for them. We have to at least make them work for it!

Since the GOP took control of the US House, that should stop the worst Federal leglislation.
Now I think the primary focus should be nullification thru the state legislatures and Governors. Also working with organizations like the American Medical Association, and any other organization to endorse or support nullifying Obamacare.

In my view, talking succession and civil disobedience at this juncture does nothing but give progressives the ammunition they need to marginalize the Tenth Amendment movement. No matter how philosophically correct you may be, the majority of American people see this view as fringe and extremist. You play into the hands of Statists with this kind of rhetoric.

"Thus the highest realization of warfare is to attack the enemy's plans; next to attack their alliances; next to attack their army; and the lowest to attack their fortified cities."

Great article & well written. I've respected civil disobedience as a means but most often it does not work unless everyone is united (as in India for independence). It's takes a society that have a culture in common.

There is a book out about Americans uniting & taking a stand. It's a thriller but so real cause it could be that history is calling on each of us to fulfill our destiny. I recommend it.
 <a href="http://www.booksbyoliver.com" rel="nofollow">www.booksbyoliver.com</a>

With continual foreign wars, bankrupt govt., bureaucrats crossing the land harassing the People & high taxes with no true representation, it's time all of us took a stand.
