The Obamaites will continue to destroy our rights and bastardize the constitution as long as you lazy liberal whiners sit on your ass and do nothing. Obamas change is rapidly destroying this country and the best way to stop it is to FIGHT this change. Read the 10th amendment and ask yourself if we have no recourse. We the people ALWAYS have a way out because we are in charge NOT the feds and it is time to let them know who is in charge. This November get off your duff and VOTE THEM OUT. It will not cure the infection of socialism but it is a start. It will take years but we the people will re-take our republic but not by whining about what we can’t do. The feds are nothing without us as their power comes from us and the states so when the states say NO MORE their is little they can do. Stop whining and FIGHT.

As far as I can tell, Obamacare cannot be effectively nullified by the states. Congress was smart (devious) enough to use the tax system to implement things. What Obamacare did was place a tax on every person in the US. If you get health insurance, they'll give you a tax credit to offset the charge. There will be no one checking to see if you have health insurance and fining those lacking – we essentially have to ask congress for the credit when we file our taxes. There is nothing for the states to nullify, no way I can see to get around this. Congress has the power to tax, and the most we can do is to not accept their tax credit if we have insurance – which no one will do. Nullification can't affect Obamacare at all.

Well, have the Feds smacked the states that resisted the REAL ID act?

The states basically effectively nullified that act.

You have an interesting point that the fed could just run in and enforce those laws but you forget that human beings in power respect the power of other human beings. This why they are reluctant just to ignore state authority when that state authority conflicts with their own wishes.

what the heck do you mean about the we won't nuke you remarks? that might be the only sane thing this crook has done. But, at the same time, he said he would use nukes against iran and north korea. Incinerating a coule hundred thousand people in a few seconds is acceptable to you? Disgusting.

Combine this with everything else they have done since 2009, including the recent "we won't nuke you remarks.." and it is obvious he is attempting to down the USA from the inside. Many warned "from the inside" would happen if he were elected. It will all become reversed and defunded come the november elections.

Douglas – you seem to be missing some important recent history, which makes your fear of the feds more realistic.

The feds have done very little, overall, to the 14 states that have been refusing to comply with federal drug laws – some of them for well-over 10 years.

The feds have virtually nothing, whatsoever, to the 20+ states that have refused to comply with the 2005 real id act. They, instead, are crumbling under the peaceful resistance.

Will they do the same on health care? Tough to say, but it is possible if enough people refuse to comply.

Part of the issue (it seems) is that State legislatures don't oppose the Federal Government because they don't want to be RESPONSIBLE for Federal Actions. Right now they can say "not our fault. That's the Federal Government". I think State politicians that don't care about the Federal Authority are just fine with the Status Quo as long as actions that the Federal Government take don't jeopardize their own political power (Directly by Supreme Court or Indirectly by making them look bad to their constituents by not standing up for State's rights).

All it takes is the Federal Government to put the slam down on 2 or 3 states to make the rest fall in line (I'm being cynical here I know). Let's not forget what happened the last time states tried to refuse the Federal Government in the 50's.
