Rob Natelson and Kevin Gutzman are not as "level-headed" as you might think-- so much as HALF-HEARTED.
They pay lip-service to "state sovereignty," but not still acquiesce to the USA being a nation; they NEVER say that the states are sovereign nations, and that the Union is NOT a sovereign nation.
And through this hesitation, our cause is lost.

Chuck Baldwin must be a VERY old man, if he remembers when America was "the Land of the Free-- since this was over 150 years ago, before the Lincoln Administration.

He doesn't seem to realize that Lincoln made the government MASTER of the People of the States-- rather than the SERVANT. Rather, he seems to believe that big government just "happened" as a recent event.
Not by a longshot.

This is an example of why I find the sovereignty movement so liberating- rather than being fueled by sensational fear mongers, we subscribe to a calm approach that is backed by historical precedent and level headed scholars such as Rob Natelson and Kevin Gutzman. The message of our movement is inherently empowering and I think the growth of it reflects that.

Fear is so....2002.

Here's a typical reponse - a comment from Facebook today:

"I also believe that America's fear of foreigners who hate us and intend to destroy us is equally well founded. So, I think our actions must reflect a balance of those two fears. Every American sees that balance differently. I whole-heartedly support actions to minimize the impacts of security measures on our individual liberties, but not at the expense of necessary security measures."

What's he saying? As long as security is maximized, liberty must get out of the way. I guess he didn't listen to Eisenhower "If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom."

The push for a security state is one of the most obvious and telling signs that we are headed for centralized power, to a degree not seen since the soviets. At some point, this trend will reverse itself, but only after a thorough awakening by the American people. Awakening others, therefore, must be a conscious goal of us all.

No doubt about it, Bryce - but sadly, there's many seemingly on the right, who are just so willing to say "they're not doing ENOUGH to protect us!"

I wonder if they're happy with Obama having the power to spy, and read their emails, and watch their bank account - are they that afraid of the boogey man that they'd give such power to their political opponent?
