Larry, I honestly don’t care if he's hitching a ride or not, the very speech and voice in itself is helpful in raising awareness. Regardless of the afflation of the attacker.(your right perhaps he should be a bit less partisan about it, but remember he must rally political support of the strongest groups locally)

So let them hitch a ride, and let us push them to give meaning and weight to the words.

Every Step they make in this direction is a victory for our cause regardless of who makes that step. Remember our Objective here is not to support either particular political party but to get BOTH party at the local level to advance the cause of liberty and decentralization.

To that end we cannot be picky as to our friends and enemy. Instead we must behave as voters and support whatever individual for whatever time they support and push our causes, to what ever limited extent they support the same.

We will support democrats in the anti-federal drug war we must also support republicans in the anti-federal gun war.

But your right, we need to get a democrat issuing this same basic speech.

PS: Our objective is no longer concerned with who controls congress as congress will not help us one-way or the other. The best we can do is get a congress and president that will not actively appose our state and local efforts. Whether or not we have that I don’t know, the only think I do know in that regard is it won’t necessarily be a republican or democrat congress. Decentralization can not be a partisan issue if it is to prevail and be sustained, it must be an American issue. Because our views are not the same at the local and state level.

In Virginia, Texas, and the south in general I expect the State and local Republicans to largely take up this cause, In New York, Mass, California, and so on I expect the State and local Democrats to largely take up this case.

The forces of the defense of liberty must come from those most strong and identifying with the people of the area.

I don’t expect the Republicans or Democrats of the same States to support them, but I would ask them to support the other side on this one particular cause recognizing that in the long run this is the best thing for our country even if they may personally lose in that they are not a local majority on theses particular issues.

To that end we must devote our efforts and influence with in our particular party and local circles. We must utilize the local political and otherwise interest politically to drive the forces of decentralization, in addition to our reasoning.

Michael,
I struggle with the sincerity of speeches like this coming from partisan politicians. In politics, credibility comes not from what is said, But rather the company you keep. I fear Republicans are simply hitching a ride on the coat tails of the tenth Amendment movement, as well as the tea party members, Looking for momentum to take congress back. if they do, it will be politics as usual. there was no concern for the constitution when Republicans held power, and there won't be if/when they return..

Larry, it's important to point out, like you have, that this isn't a republican or a democrat issue. They both have no respect for the limits on government in the Constitution. Like John Adams once said, "liberty once lost, is lost forever...." Well, until we stop begging these federalis to let us exercise our rights.

Hate to be a wet blanket but Christopher Peace is elaborating on Obama amassing debt, while neglecting Bush's 700 Billion dollar TARP program, not to mention the patriot act, in the name of national security.

Anyone else see something wrong with a guy who belongs to a club that is a major cause of Americans rights being eroded, pointing fingers at another club doing the exact same thing?

I see Republicans and Democrats using the constitution to make their points as simply priming the pump for an election. because History shows Neither party truly practises what the preach.
"More then just words".. a fitting title

"Estimates Place Cost Of President’s Health Care Plan At Over $1 Trillion Over The Next Decade with further deficit spending."

Awesome...and how will they pay for it? Further devaluation of the dollar.

Get ready for $12 six-packs of Bud, $50 pizzas and $75 pairs of 'Chucks', cause it's comin.

Makes me wish my city adopted a local 'alternative' currency like those clever folks in Pittsboro...
