Great idea. Though seems to be overwhelming, cumbersome, and tedious. Average person doesn't have a lot of time to do investigative inquiry, research or engauge to that level or degree. Many are apothetic, lazy, disenfranchised,or immersed in family problems. Perhaps the websites proposed could perfect such process whereby expediting signature ratification by those who can't participate or have no time. Perhaps networking and outsourcing with other websites to create incremental steps each could work upon to later be combined creating the Furthering Liberty Plan is a viable solution. What's certain is that their isn't a lot of time left. Federal govt. appears to be fast-tracking countermeasures thus making inner State reform two steps back.

I have written extensively in my blog posts about the "tactic" of taking back our individual liberty by asserting our State's sovereignty.

My point has been that, instead of concerning ourself with the 2-party results of our national elections, we focus on the states, and use the states to break the two-party system stranglehold.

It is the only winnable scenario that I can see for the cause of liberty, however, until now, I had no game plan to provide people. Sure I had vague suggestions like "gather together with like-minded individuals" or "write your representatives" or "write a letter to the editor" but I knew that this was not enough: It even rang hollow in my own ears.

Mr. Matthews, THIS IS THE GAME PLAN! Thank You! There is no way for me to convey the sincerity of my gratitude or the VALUE that your post provides to all who feel powerless to affect change.

Hopefully with your permission, and blessing, I now go forth to spread the word!

I know this all sounds corndog, but it is the honest truth. Your post was a political epiphany for me.

Go in peace!

This was an excellent article! I never really thought about it this way until now. I was just so bogged down on the federal government, that I wasn't even thinking on the state or local level. But, what you describe is exactly what the Founders intended- true "bottom up governing"; good county/city governments that cater to their unique people, followed by a State government which is to serve as an agent of the county/city governments and their people. And finally, the federal government whose sole purpose is to serve as an agent of the States and to do what is delegated to it and nothing more.

If we actually put this plan to work, we can slowly transform our State legislatures into focused units which will truly serve and represent the State's people. When this is accomplished, the States will then have the guts/resolve to confront the federal government and force it to go back to within the boundaries of the Constitution.

I like your bottom-up approach to this. I'm a bottom-up kind of fella myself. :-)

Fortunately for us in Oklahoma (insofar as the Tenth Amendment Resolution movement, immigration reform, and so forth are concerned), we simply installed common sense legislators during the last several elections who don't need a whole lot of guidance (or pressure) from their constituents. The only letters/emails I've personally written to our legislators concerning those issues, barring one, were simple 'after-the-fact' Thank Yous. However, had I thought I needed to put pressure on the OK legislature on these specific items (even after our spineless leftist Governor vetoed our Tenth Amendment Resolution), I would not have hesitated to do so.

Keep up the good work!
