This thing is yet another attempt by the federal government to force a European Union style of oppressive government on the States and their people. Who the heck came up with this "Real ID" program anyway? Thank God that the States are finally having the guts to stand up to D.C. If only everyday citizens could see these things (Real ID, federal registration of firearms, restrictions on ammo type or quantity, etc) for what they really are- the initial step in the disarmament and enslavement of the people. I only wish there was a way for States to "overrule" the US Supreme Court.

Nick - great point! While I support their opposition to the Real ID act, it's still important to point out that funding or no funding, it's something that should be resisted. Some bills around the country are focusing more on the privacy violations as well. Either way, the real id rebellion is real!

"Unfunded mandate" isn't the point. If Congress funded REAL ID, would these legislators suddenly comply? REAL ID needs to be rejected because it is unconstitutional and totalitarian, funded or not. And the enhanced drivers' licenses DHS is plotting are even worse; be on the lookout. http://www.dhs.gov/xtrvlsec/crossingborders/gc_1197575704846.shtm
