In Europe they have a far more accurate description of people like that “Christian Democrats”. These people are just as meddling as the socialists, but their is driven by “religion” instead of class envy. Though there is a quite a healthy Christian socialist movement as well.

Big government meddling Christians aren’t really “conservative” at all. Fascistic government meddling in people’s lives and businesses is no less fascistic if its driven by religious belief.
