		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;m an agnostic, but it doesn&#039;t take much knowledge of history to know that the Bible has been an important part of Western Civilization since the days of Charlemagne. Even the irreligious warmonger Lincoln had an extensive knowledge of the Bible and often quoted from it. Given the historical record, every educated person in the West should have some knowledge of that text. 

But that&#039;s aside from the issue of state coercion.

I look forward to the day when the public schools are abolished, but that day seems far off. In the meantime are you suggesting that NO  books should be required reading in those institutions?  I think PJB&#039;s statement ws made in the contect of the existing DC-NYC-Hollywood regime in which  the schools are indoctrinational arms of that regime.

And back in 2000 State&#039;s Rights were still discredited because of the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow and no one was seriously talking about a revival of the moribund Tenth Amendment.]]></description>
