Comments on: Update: Iowa and Kansas

I’m new to recent happenings regarding this issue, but having said that, one possible danger comes to mind. I’ve come across articles indicating that the powers-that-be are beating drums to arrange a Constitutional Convention, whereby they (likely) plan to basically gut the Constitution as we know it. It might be wise (IMHO) that these state resolutions add language that references the original Constitution and makes it clear that further amendments that might attempt to nullify basic Constitutional rights are null and void, in perpetuity. I’d like to read more on this from those more experienced in the matter. The (very real) danger as I see it, would have the NWO basically nullify the US Constitution before we know what’s happening, thus circumventing the whole states rights issues (and much more) in one fell swoop.

Lori – good to hear that C4L is taking some strong action on this. You’re right that this is a long, uphill battle. And even if it doesn’t pass, this is just the beginning. Oklahoma’s resolution just passed both their House and Senate – but failed in Senate in 2008.

Michael, The Iowa chapter of Campaign for Liberty has state sovereignty as one of its ongoing projects. I’ve made some contacts through that website and through the Iowa minutemen organization to see how I can get involved in some organized lobbying. It sounds like an uphill battle in Iowa but I think we owe it to the next generation to at least try. I don’t want my grandchildren to ask me what is was like to be free and why I didn’t say anything while our freedoms were being taken away.

Lori – that’s some great input, thanks for reporting on this! Has anyone in IA been working on organizing there? i.e. contacting people like your district 9 senator and pressuring them to be in favor? The same should be said for those in the house…..

I contacted my local senator and rep here Iowa. District #9 senator says he was not aware of SCR1 and would get back to me. Less than a day later he said he did some research and “could not support this resolution at this time.” Local rep, Pat Grassley, says he’s in full support of the house resolution, citizen support has been overwhelming but doubts the majority party in the house will support it. He expressed his frustration.

I haven’t heard all the interviews on this yet – but looking forward to it. Thanks for posting this here! As far as the number of states, we’ve been hearing a lot of different numbers….usually around 25-30 – but that tends to include states that may have passed a resolution over 10 years ago, and others that are not yet introduced. I can only assume that Mr Key has been in contact with plenty of people around the country and sees far more that are being planned. Our updated list includes only those that have been introduced already. If you hear of any more, please use the contact button on this website to let us know!
