I think Lew Rockwell has said it best (and I’m paraphrasing here) – if it comes from a politician or the mainstream media, then consider the complete opposite to be the right solution.

Social Security was solvent and fully funded, but, our government spent the money. They spent it, it’s gone and they spend more than they take every year. How long can we keep this up?

You cannot legislate behavior. As soon as the law passes, the jobs go out with the new law. Let’s make real changes in the USA. We’ve become too bloated and lazy. I don’t know about you, but, I’m angry as hell with what I’ve seen in the last six months. We were taught as children to do the right thing, be honest, don’t cheat. What example have we just seen from our government? Lie and cheat and it’ll be OK – the US Government will bail you out. While all the people that believed in what their parents taught them get shafted by those that face no consequences for their crimes. A disgrace!

Let’s not keep tinkering around. Let’s vote out the idiots and vote in the Ron Paul’s of the world to save our liberty and way of life.

As soon as my taxes rise above 25%, I’m done. That means that I will not earn more money. I will become the other side of the equation. I’ll take instead of give as the government wants. Then what?

You Americans had the greatest thing going for you in your constitution. Alas, politicians, lawyers and majorities… voting themselves goodies via the state … have apparently whittled your constitution down to something almost meaningless.

Perhaps it is an exaggeration to think that the great American enterprise is on it’s last legs. Some are predicting imminent collapse.

My impression right now is that the US is mortally ill. Ron Paul’s ideas I think would save it. But is there still time?

I think yes there is time… but it’s of no use. It would require a majority of Americans to give themselves a serious shake and wake up!

And I just don’t see that happening. (sorry)

Before we start a new government from scratch what is wrong with the scratch, Constitution, we already have?

Don’t blame government crimes on the Constitution because the Constitution did not authorize or delegate a power for government criminality (unconstitutionality).

The only problem with the Constitution is “enforcement” of it; if we write and ratify a new Constitution who would enforce it and how?

I’ll wager a straightforward answer to those two questions will not be forthcoming.

Social Security is a way for all working Americans to pay for senior citizens. It is not a ponzi scheme. It is basically the best of intentions which is for those working now to pay for those who are too old to work. Those who are working now do so in the faith that if they are lucky enough to live long enough then others who are not even born yet will pay for them. So do not lie about it and say it is a ponsi scheme.

It is really the idea of pay it forward as in the movie.

Also on the numbers, Social Security will never, never, never go bankrupt because there will always be more people younger then the senior citizen age. Common sense will tell you that if we start living longer the age will and has moved up to accomadate that. Also we can and have cut benefits to those who are not senior citizens to keep social security in the black.

So right now it is 62 and we have more people under 62 working than over 62 drawing. If and when that changes which it hopefully will because we are living better and longer lives than the number can be moved up to accomadate that.

So everyone needs to stop lying about social security and what it is. It is great idea, from a great society to bring out the best in people.

Also on the numbers, in terms of social security over 99% OF money paid out in social security goes right back into the ecomony and creates jobs and taxes. In the end it generates economic expansion.

Unlike not taking the social security taxes would mean that every corporation would instantly gain over 10% on the wages of every employee and instantly go and spend that money at the rate of over 50% outside of the United States of America. Which would create economic recession in the United State of America. Again look at the numbers, most corporations are offshore, think of Dubia and having so much money you build cities on the ocean which is what Citi corp is doing with the bailout money.

So Social Security is one of the most purest forms of being good human beings and the numbers work so that it creates economic expansion because almost all the money stays in the United States of America and gets spent that month.

I agree though that most laws are now written by the very people who give campaign contributions to make laws which will make them rich. So let us address the problem.

But were I do not agree is that legislation is not the answer. Legislation is the answer to every problem we currently have. The United States of American was founded by legislation by great thinkers to make our country great.

We have freedoms because they were legislated in. Otherwise there would be no free speech.

We have workers rights because they were legislated in. Otherwise there would be no workers rights, such as minimum wage and age work rules and safety rules.

We have no slavery because it is was legislated in. Otherwise we would still have slavery.

We have environmental protection because it was legislated in.

What we need is to legislate BACK IN job protection. That is what I want my congressmen like Ron Paul to do. Right now the corporations and our government are doing what is good for them. And it actually makes sense. Corporations are offshoring everything they can and building malls to sell everything to Americans. They offshore so they do not have to pay taxes, Do not have to follow freedom laws such as free speech, Do not have to follow labor laws, such as age, Do not have to follow slave labor laws, Do not have to follow environmental laws. Why do corporations do this, DAH!! To make more money stupid. Why does the government allow this, DAH!! To make more money in campaign contribuitions.

What is the answer.

Simple.

Legislation.

Domestic content laws to make sure we make a minimum amount of stuff in the US, like automobiles, major appliances, textiles. All we need is close to full employment and then we can buy all the junk other countries want to send us.

Corporate legislation laws to ensure that corporations follow our laws no matter were they produce anything. No longer letting them get around our laws by offshoring. If they want to produce things in India and pay them our minimum wage, utilize work correct age workers and follow our environmental laws, great! If not then they do not do business in the United States of America.

Two simple laws that will correct this whole mess in less than one month. It is time Americans demand that our legislators start working for us!!!! Stop lying about what is going on which is the errosion of American jobs by offshoring everything.

Oh and by the way, bailouts are not needed. If anyone is doing the numbers they would quickly find that with 700 billion dollars you could buy a lot of automobiles(17 million no problem) and homes made in the US(1 million in forclosure) by direct loans to people who live in the US. But that is a subject for another comment. But again do the numbers you would be surprised.

But our elected officials need to stop lying and understand what is really going on. Social Security is great. Legislation is great. It is great to be an American. Corporations offshoring everything and our government bailing them out is COMPLETE INSANITY AND CONGRESSMEN SAYING OTHERWISE ARE EITHER LIARS, PAID OFF OR JUST FOOLS.
