The unwillingness of Congress to pause, understand the root cause, and then take decisive action is typical of American culture. I see it in corporate American on a daily basis. In corporate American you are measured on how much you get done, not whether it was the right or proper thing to do. Instead Congress abdicated even more power to the executive branch. I fear the damage started by FDR, continued by Nixon (and others), and abused further by Bush may never be undone. God Save the Republic.</description>
