The 10th Amendment was written specifically to keep most of the power local and in OUR hands. “at the Constitutional Convention, Hamilton urged his fellow delegates to erect a national government with an executive and senate elected for life that could ‘pass all laws whatsoever’ [in the failed spirits of Hobbes and Rousseau!] When he failed to get his way, he went home.” Bye bye, bye, Hamilton, except the last laugh is on us. Hamilton’s ideas have obviously won over the last century and a half.
