(Los Angeles, CA. May 11, 2011) – The Los Angeles based Tenth Amendment Center recently made the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch blog.

Why?

The organization created a national tour based around the “N” word

(And it’s coming to Los Angeles this month)

Not only does TAC use the “N” word regularly, speakers at the events promote the word, justify the practice and seek to expand its use across the country.

James Madison said the states have a right and are duty bound exercise the “N” word, and Thomas Jefferson called it, “the rightful remedy.”

Clearly, it’s not the word you might think.

It’s nullify.

“Groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center would have you believe nullification is a tool for racists to deconstruct the United States and take it back to the days of slavery, or to somehow revive the Confederacy,” TAC communications director Mike Maharrey said. “But these folks have it spun 180-degrees in the wrong direction. Abolitionists used nullification to fight the Fugitive Slave Acts. It’s about freedom, not slavery. It’s about placing a check on unconstitutional federal overreach.”

On Saturday, May 28, Southern Californians will have the opportunity to learn the truth about nullification when the Nullify Now! tour makes a stop in Los Angeles. (http://www.nullifynow.com/losangeles/)

This national program sponsored by the Tenth Amendment Center and the Foundation for a Free Society will set up in the penthouse of the AT&T tower in Downtown L.A.  Featuring Harvard and Columbia University educated historian Thomas Woods Jr. as the keynote speaker, along with KPFK’s Antiwar Radio host Scott Horton, recording artist Jordan Page, and other speakers and musical acts, the presentation will weave together a logical, moral, and constitutionally sound case for nullification through historical writings, case studies and the words of the founders.

“The ‘peace president’ bombs. The TSA gropes and scans. The drug war rages on. The fed prints and prints….and prints money. Mandates and bailouts never seem to end. What do we do about it?” TAC executive Michael Boldin asks. “Thomas Jefferson gave us the answer in 1798. Nullify.”

The Nullify Now! Event begins at 4 p.m.
