This guys interpretation of the tenth amendment is completely wrong and based on selective sources. Courts have always thrown out this theory, even as early as a quarter century of the Constitution's drafting.

And think of the end game. If states are sovereign, can Maine liberals withhold tax money for wars it doesn't like? Ignore a future Supreme Court decision that overturns Roe v. Wade and keep allowing abortions? Can Connecticut keep knocking down houses because it just doesn't buy into the Kelo eminent domain decision?

This goes both ways. Do you really want to live in a state where Democratic legislators get to interpret the Constitution on your behalf and ignore conservative federal laws and policies they disagree with? Because even if you disagree on the interpretation personally, if more people in this state looked at the Constitution differently than yourself you would have no recourse in a nullification world.

Good points, Chris. You highlight the struggle to encourage people to see beyond partisan political gaming and see the issue for what it is -- keeping government within Constitutional proscriptions.
