I am also from Virginia, just like jsmith above, and soundly support the 10th Amendment, along with the entire Bill of Rights.

A lot of people, MANY Virginians among them, do not know enough of their history to know that the current Virginia state flag is also her secession flag. After the War ended in 1865, Virginia was brought back into the Union at the point of a bayonet. Her rape and pillage by Scalawags and Carpetbaggers continued during Reconstruction from 1867 to 1877, and as typical for the Southern states, for many years beyond the end of Reconstruction. Politicians in Washington, DC developed an unconstitutional attitude beginning under Lincoln in 1861 which has continued to this day. It's time to put a stop to it!!!

Gene Healy, of the Cato Institute, has witten an excellent book and several scholaly articles on that subject, The Imperial Presidency,. There's no question any more that we have been creating such an institution. So much so that it appears that the only thing lacking is automatic succesion. The suspending of the two-term limit is not beyond imagination, given our current president's apparent admiration of Hugo Chavez and his support for the deposed Zelaya of Honduras, who tried to do that very thing.

How many states will it take to declare their Tenth Amendment rights and reverse this enire process?

Thank you for an excellent article. Luckily for me, my commonwealth has risen the flag and is resisting tyranny (sic semper tyrannis!). However, there are still more than 30 states that have not. Enough is enough.

It's time for Americans who believe in the Constitution to stand up and be counted. It's not enough to post something here. You need to contact your lawmakers and AGs and set them straight.

I agree that this character "pmalter0" is intentionally trying to distract and, thus, should be ignored by those of us who are trying to have an intellectual debate in order to advance the cause of liberty.

Surely, no one can be this dense. It may be a sign that this site is getting influential enough that those who seek power and oppose liberty have decided to attempt to derail it.

Did the Founding Fathers have to put up with this? : )
