Mark Edge, co-host of the syndicated radio show Free Talk Live, joins us to talk about the Free State Project in New Hampshire as decentralization in practice, moving towards smaller government on a state level, spreading liberty around the country by example, the insanity of violent response to activists by the federal government, the people of New Hampshire as having a streak of individualism and resistance to government encroachments, the state legislature in New Hampshire, liberty-loving lobbyists, the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, Free Talk Live’s growing syndication, and more.
Mentioned in this Show:

I live in Ohio, and I know there’s people working for a free state here too. But this free state new hampshire effort really seems to be well underway. Excited to hear more!
We Virginians are definitely with you in NH!
The federal government IS willing to ‘roll tanks in,’ (Waco, Ruby Ridge, etc.) don’t kid yourselves. But whatever. I’ve always thought the Free State project was/is a good idea.
P.S. I have a “compound” in which I have several guns (an ‘arsenal’ by federal standards, I’m sure). Anyway, good interview.
You might be right, Terry. I just think in this climate when the house of cards is ready to fall already – they can’t risk such a move. But, they sure do have a history of violence against the people. Mark made a great point on that, though….if they’re going to do it, it’s pretty “useful” information, too. Would sure show people what a bunch of thugs the feds are – if they didn’t just attack a bunch of “crazies” but an entire state…
It wouldn't be tanks. It will be the KGB knocking on the door of anyone who thinks for themselves. Just like it was in Soviet Russia. Our gulag is vastly larger than the one in Soviet Russia, because our government won't kill you, they'll just kill your soul by locking you in a cage, like Ed and Elaine Brown. There are more than enough sheep-fleece financed prisons for them to do this. This is a winning strategy: marginalize with state media, escalate, and imprison.
The FSP people want to be delusional. Just listen to -9:00 to -8:45 where Edge states that the liberty report card is graded on a curve, so they aren't handing out a lot of Fs. Well, that just shows that they want something to feel good about. If the legislators deserve Fs, then why sugar coat it? So they can feel freer than they are? NH has —BY FAR– the largest state legislature in the nation. Over 400 seats in their state legislature means they have to find 201+ electable libertarians, in order to have a simple majority (the districts being smaller and easier to win doesn't mean much, unless libertarians are willing to move to unoccupied districts, and walk their districts until they are won, which they aren't –because if they were, they'd have won AK and DE a long time ago).
The really pathetic thing? This guy couldn't tell you specifically what constitutes victory for him. How passionless! He sounded like a politician when he was asked that question. (And sadly, there is a great answer to that question: When local juries won't convict anyone for selling fully automatic machine guns, C-4 explosives, or coca plants.)
In short: the tanks won't roll in on these people, but autorange guns might take a few of them out, though. The KGB, FBI, IRS, BATFE, FDA, ICE, ETC will take out the rest. There will eventually be a knock at their door, and they will not be willing to shoot the knocker, nor the men with guns who back him up. They will be taken away in handcuffs for seven to fourteen years, and will be returned as type II diabetics pumped with prison food and dangerous pharmaceuticals with no more willingness to fight, and bad livers.
Alaska and Delaware are two states with the lowest number of state legislators, where twenty one victories gives you a simple majority. Alaska has the lowest population, next to WY, but unlike WY, it is not landlocked with federal prison-states. This is only relevant after the arrival of strong AGI. See http://www.optimal.org/peter
It sometimes seems to me that I am the only person in the Nation who cares about liberty enough to pay attention to the entire picture. How many other people here knew what I posted about? How many people knew that these things were of primary importance? It seems there are no strategists among us. Not one in 10,000. If so, we lose, because we are less intelligent than the bankers we are up against.
The side with the most intelligence always wins. …Think about that.
Tanks roll only if the public allows it. this comes in two ways, either the Bullshit meter is fed, and the media spoon feeds it to the public to accept it, Or Silent consent is given.. By staying silent you essentially give the green light. More often then not It’s the silent consent that dooms anyone willing to make a stand.. of coarse, this is how sheep are bred.
You Rock michael!, you sound good on radio.
It seems to me that more and more people are sick and tired of silent consent. Which is a good sign! And thank you for the compliment, Larry, it’s definitely appreciated! Just glad to be able to keep plugging away.
Good job Michael
Great stuff folks! I must say, moving from TN to NH as part of the FSP was one of the best things I ever did. I feel a lot more free in NH.
Live Free or Die!
Keith, thanks for the perspective. In the last few years of listening to Ian and Mark on Free Talk Live, I’ve often heard people calling in and saying how excited they are to be in NH…..I don’t believe I’ve ever heard someone call to say they regret making that big decision.
