Michael,

Thanks for this and I think with more and more states joining the effort, this will be probably the only way to prevent the "Shove Down Your Throat" policies coming out of Washington.

Question - You know there is a problem with healthcare and real ways to fix those problems in the State Of Louisiana. Is there a group that is working to address those healthcare problems and offer solutions and fixes?

IF so, I would like to offer my services to that group. There are some great "Model of Success" programs here already in existance that should be looked at, modified and improved.

Thanks and Great "WE THE PEOPLE" way to go..

Rick - important questions. First of all, our sources tell us that there's going to be a Health Care Nullification bill introduced in Louisiana in 2010 - giving the people there the chance to vote on effectively banning it within the state. Read about Florida's efforts in the same way here.

Also, if you want to find or start a local group, start here.

"States' rights' has usually been a euphemism for white/class and/or religious privilege, and I don't see that has having changed one bit.

Care to provide an example of that?

It is important to note that many people, like you, when hearing the term "states rights" have a gut instinct reaction that ties the idea of decentralization to such horrible things as you've mentioned.

That's a big reason why (other than the fact that states don't have rights - only people do) we generally don't use the term here. A good read on the subject is:

The comments of these media clones indicate precisely the problem of propaganda and ignorance..."asking for states rights is like ..the children being the parents?"...
First we are not asking for states' rights. These rights are ours to begin with as determined by the Constitituion.

Second...The states are not the children of the parents...
We ...the people..and in each of our states ...created this Constituion and the ignorance and propaganda generated by this kind of editorializing by clones must be rejected by all!

Great points, Puma! The problem here is that the media parrots just what the government thugs want them to say - that the federal government is our mommy or our daddy - and we are its children.

Isn't that how the Emperor Augustus viewed his subjects?
